Best Buy Partners with Indeed Hiring Events to Get Staffed for the Holiday Season

Best Buy is a leading provider of technology products, services and solutions that is headquartered in Richfield, Minnesota.

With thousands of seasonal roles to fill in a short period of time, Best Buy has to rely on innovative solutions to meet its holiday hiring needs. This year, Best Buy reached out to Indeed for help.

“Indeed was already one of our top sources for hires, so it was an easy conversation to have. The Indeed team understood the challenges we faced, and they quickly recommended Indeed Hiring Events as a solution,” said Jackie Boyd – Sr Director of Talent Acquisition.

With Indeed Hiring Events, Best Buy was able to schedule a two-day National Hiring Event where they recruited for retail customer service representatives at more than 500 of their locations. Indeed managed advertising of the event on Indeed.com and created a central landing page that Best Buy used as a destination for all external marketing and PR efforts.

Best Buy’s HR leadership team and hiring managers received daily updates on how many people had RSVP’d to their events, including which time slots candidates had selected to interview, enabling Best Buy to forecast how many interviewers were needed at each location. Best Buy also leveraged screener questions to ensure that RSVPs met basic qualifications, resulting in a more efficient interview process.

Overall, more than 90% of hiring leaders were satisfied with the ease and set up of their Hiring Event, and more than 80% were happy with the quality of the applicants.
